From ‘Bengal School’ to the 50’s ‘Society of Contemporary Artists’ Group’
I am planning a book on the history of painting and sculpture in Bengal during the period roughly 1900-60, which is loosely referred to as the ‘modern period’ of Bengal Art, especially keeping into mind the contribution of artists who were from Bengal or were working here. However, this is not going to be a history book in the strict sense, but more of a textual space where artists, poets and people from other intellectual fields will put forward their opinion.So, this effort may not succeed without your participation.
